The Dublin Corporation started life as a popular Irish showband called The Pacific Showband.  During the mid 60s they released 45s under their original name however in 1969 they undertook the first of several tours of Canada.  In the early 70s they moved to Canada permanently and changed the band's name to the Dublin Corporation.

Under their new name they released a few 45s and an album that had Canadian chart success.

This 45 is a cover of the Roger Cook/Roger Greenaway track that was first recorded by the British band Blue Mink.  Whilst the song was a UK Top 5 hit for Blue Mink (and a Canadian hit for Dublin Corporation) the song has not weathered the changes in time, today it is banned by many UK radio stations due to its offensive/racist language such as the phrases "curly Latin kinkies", "mixed with yellow Chinkies" and "little bitty bit of Red Indian boy". 

Under the direction of the UK Communications Act 2003, Ofcom (the UK regulator for communication services) ruled that "the phrase 'yellow Chinkies' had the potential to be highly offensive" and "that the use of derogatory language to describe ethnic groups carries a widespread potential for offence". Ofcom also considered that the passage of time since the song's release and the song's positive message of racial harmony did not "mitigate the potential for offence."

Nevertheless the song is a reflection of its time but it was still being recorded and appearing in worldwide charts well into the late 80s.  In 1988 the New Zealand band When The Cats Away recorded a version that hit the NZ #1 spot.

V.I.P.-25033 (2012) The Mynah Birds were a Canadian R&B/Garage band active 1964 through to 1967.  The band is notable due to a few of its famous band members, namely Neil Young, Rick Matthews (aka Rick James) and Bruce Palmer. The Kinks Drivin' / Mindless Child Of Motherhood BMG BMGCAT407BOX6 (2019) This Kinks' 45 was originally released in 1969 on the Pye record label in the UK.  The A side was taken from the album "Arthur (Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire)," more often referred to as simply "Arthur."  "Arthur" was a concept album, written as a soundtrack to an intended TV show that was never produced.  Basically it revolved around the story of Arthur Morgan, a carpet-layer, who was based on Ray and guitarist Dave Davies' brother-in-law Arthur Anning who emigrated with their sister Rose to Australia in 1964.   Her departure devastated Ray, and it inspired him to write the song "Rosy Won't You Please Come Home" which was released on the 1966 album "Face to Face". The Animals The Animals Is Here EP Columbia SEG 8374 (1964) An early EP from the original lineup of the band namely vocalist Eric Burdon, guitarist Hilton Valentine, bass guitarist Chas Chandler, keyboardist Alan Price and drummer John Steel.  The group formed in Newcastle upon Tyne during 1962 and 1963 when Burdon joined the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo and they performed as the Alan Price Combo. They later changed their name to the Animals. They were supposedly dubbed "animals" because of their wild stage act, and the name stuck. Known for their gritty, bluesy sound, they balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm-and-blues-oriented album material and were part of the British Invasion of the US. FLAC
