Pilot - Call Me Round
Call Me Round / Do Me Good
EMI 2287 (1975)
David Paton and Billy Lyall had both briefly been members of the Bay City Rollers but in 1973 they formed the band Pilot with Stuart Tosh and Ian Bairson.
The band's first 45 "Magic" hit the charts in 1974 and in 1975 they had a UK #1 single with "January".
This 45 was their third single and it only reached the Top 40 here in the UK. They followed with one more single, release in 1976, but shortly after that Lyall departed the band to pursue a solo career.
Following his departure Pilot had no further hits and by 1978 the band had dissolved. It is interesting to note this 45 was produced by Alan Parsons. When the band split in 1978 three of the them (Paton, Tosh & Bairnson) joined the Alan Parsons Project.
