First recorded by Smiley Lewis in 1953, his version was released as a single in January 1954.  This version by Fats Domino is the better known of the 45s especially as it appeared in the film "The Girl Can't Help It".

It became one of the earliest rhythm and blues songs to make the Billboard charts, peaking at #5 and reaching #1 on the US R&B Best Sellers chart. The single, released in the UK on the London label, reached #23 on the UK Singles Chart.

Vibravoid Kraut Rock Sensation EP Fruits De Mer CRUSTACEAN 07 (2009) Another great slab of vinyl from the Fruits De Mer label featuring the band Vibravoid who hail from Dusseldorf, Germany. The original plan for the label was for long lost rock classics to be re-released however licensing the music was I assume very difficult and expensive so the label moved into having rare and classic rock being re-recorded as cover versions. Marion Ryan  (4 February 1931 – 15 January 1999)  was a popular British singer in the 50s & 60s, once called "the Marilyn Monroe of popular song".  Most of her output is referred to as run of the mill pop but the "A" side of a 1968 release, although not experiencing any chart success at the time, found acceptance during the 1970s on the Northern Soul dance scene.
