Born Catherine Anne Martin in Tankerton UK in 1953, Bette started out in the 70s as the singer with the band Deaf School.  After Deaf School disbanded she began her solo career with her backing band being "The Illuminations".  Band members included Rusty Egan (who went on to Visage) and Glen Matlock of Sex Pistols fame.

This, her 3rd single was released in February 1980 and was the only one to chart in the UK reaching #50.  The single features Lee "Kix" Thompson of Madness on saxophone.

Around this time she also spent some time as the singer for the Dutch band Gruppo Sportivo (using her birth name). She also appeared in the Sex Pistol movie "The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle".

In 1981 she married Suggs (Graham McPherson) the lead singer of Madness.

Tenpole Tudor Wunderbar / Tenpole 45 Stiff Buy 120 (1981) Tenpole Tudor were a punk band fronted by Eddie (Edward) Tudor-Pole. The band (and in particular Eddie) were first noticed when he appeared in the Sex Pistols' film The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle and on three of the singles released from the soundtrack. At one point (prior to the band folding) he was touted as a replacement singer for Johnny Rotten (John Lydon).  Initially releasing a 45 in 1980 on Korova Records, this was their 3rd single on Stiff Records and it reached #16 in the UK charts. As well as his musical career Eddie has appeared in numerous film roles including Sid and Nancy, Harry Potter and Les Misérables. He also fronted the TV show The Crystal Maze for 28 episodes in the 1990's. BUY 120

The Animals The Animals Is Here EP Columbia SEG 8374 (1964) An early EP from the original lineup of the band namely vocalist Eric Burdon, guitarist Hilton Valentine, bass guitarist Chas Chandler, keyboardist Alan Price and drummer John Steel.  The group formed in Newcastle upon Tyne during 1962 and 1963 when Burdon joined the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo and they performed as the Alan Price Combo. They later changed their name to the Animals. They were supposedly dubbed "animals" because of their wild stage act, and the name stuck. Known for their gritty, bluesy sound, they balanced tough, rock-edged pop singles against rhythm-and-blues-oriented album material and were part of the British Invasion of the US. FLAC
