"MacArthur Park" is a famous song written by Jimmy Webb. It was originally recorded by Richard Harris in 1968 and later covered by several artists, including Donna Summer and this 45 by the Four Tops.

The song is known for its lush, orchestral arrangement and whimsical lyrics. It expresses a mixture of melancholy and surreal imagery, centered around the metaphor of a love lost with Webb explaining that the park mentioned in the song was inspired by MacArthur Park in Los Angeles, though its symbolism is open to interpretation.

This 45, produced by Frank Wilson, was released in 1971 with Part II as the A side, the flip being Part I.

The original plan for the label was for long lost rock classics to be re-released however licensing the music was I assume very difficult and expensive so the label moved into having rare and classic rock being re-recorded as cover versions. Marion Ryan  (4 February 1931 – 15 January 1999)  was a popular British singer in the 50s & 60s, once called "the Marilyn Monroe of popular song".  Most of her output is referred to as run of the mill pop but the "A" side of a 1968 release, although not experiencing any chart success at the time, found acceptance during the 1970s on the Northern Soul dance scene.
