Donald Fagen, co-founder and lead singer of the band Steely Dan, released the album The Nightfly in 1982 and this was the first single taken from that album.

The "I.G.Y." of the title refers to the "International Geophysical Year", an event that ran from July 1957 to December 1958. It was an international scientific project promoting collaboration among the world's scientists. The song discusses the vision of the future at that time, including futuristic concepts such as solar-powered cities, a transatlantic tunnel and permanent space stations

This 45 is a slightly edited version of the track that appears on the album.  The single was issued in a picture sleeve.

The original plan for the label was for long lost rock classics to be re-released however licensing the music was I assume very difficult and expensive so the label moved into having rare and classic rock being re-recorded as cover versions. Marion Ryan  (4 February 1931 – 15 January 1999)  was a popular British singer in the 50s & 60s, once called "the Marilyn Monroe of popular song".  Most of her output is referred to as run of the mill pop but the "A" side of a 1968 release, although not experiencing any chart success at the time, found acceptance during the 1970s on the Northern Soul dance scene.
