The original line up of The Animals had split in 1966 and Eric formed a new version of the band, moved them to California and had a change of musical direction becoming more of a psychedelic/progressive rock band.

This was the first release from the new line up, a protest song against the Vietnam war.  It starts with a parody of the Dragnet TV show and then moves into a reasonable ballad that could have, in my opinion, benefited by being a bit longer and having a more natural finish.  The B side is a heavier song about the scene the band was getting into whilst in San Francisco.

The band released a few singles in the coming years but following a Japanese tour in November 1968 the band was broken up with Eric moving on to record with the Long Beach band War.

The Animals The Animals Is Here EP Columbia SEG 8374 (1964) An early EP from the original lineup of the band namely vocalist Eric Burdon, guitarist Hilton Valentine, bass guitarist Chas Chandler, keyboardist Alan Price and drummer John Steel.  The group formed in Newcastle upon Tyne during 1962 and 1963 when Burdon joined the Alan Price Rhythm and Blues Combo and they performed as the Alan Price Combo. They later changed their name to the Animals. They were supposedly dubbed "animals" because of their wild stage act, and the name stuck. Tenpole Tudor Wunderbar / Tenpole 45 Stiff Buy 120 (1981) Tenpole Tudor were a punk band fronted by Eddie (Edward) Tudor-Pole. The band (and in particular Eddie) were first noticed when he appeared in the Sex Pistols' film The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle and on three of the singles released from the soundtrack. At one point (prior to the band folding) he was touted as a replacement singer for Johnny Rotten (John Lydon).  Initially releasing a 45 in 1980 on Korova Records, this was their 3rd single on Stiff Records and it reached #16 in the UK charts. As well as his musical career Eddie has appeared in numerous film roles including Sid and Nancy, Harry Potter and Les Misérables. He also fronted the TV show The Crystal Maze for 28 episodes in the 1990's. BUY 120

Dusty Springfield Dusty EP Philips 433 669 BE (1964) A s was the norm in the 60s, many artists released 7" Extended Play discs featuring previous single or album tracks.  Dusty was no exception releasing several in the UK, this release being her 2nd EP. All 4 tracks on this disc can be found on the album A Girl Called Dusty which had been recorded at Olympic Studios, Carton Street, London W1 during January 1964.  The album was released in April and this EP was then issued in July. The video is a clip of Dusty performing on the Ed Sullivan show on May 2nd 1965. FLAC
