Marty Wilson and the Strat-O-Lites were a lesser-known American rock and roll band active in the late 1950s. Their single I'm All Woke Up, released in 1958, exemplified the upbeat, rhythm-heavy sound typical of early rock and roll. While not a major chart hit, the song gained some regional popularity for its catchy melody and lively style, reminiscent of artists like Bill Haley and the Comets.

The flip is a great piece of instrumental rock 'n' roll.

A good search turns up very little else about the band members, and the group likely disbanded by the early 1960s, as musical trends shifted and competition in the rock and roll genre intensified.

Vibravoid Kraut Rock Sensation EP Fruits De Mer CRUSTACEAN 07 (2009) Another great slab of vinyl from the Fruits De Mer label featuring the band Vibravoid who hail from Dusseldorf, Germany. The original plan for the label was for long lost rock classics to be re-released however licensing the music was I assume very difficult and expensive so the label moved into having rare and classic rock being re-recorded as cover versions. This EP was a limited release of 300 copies so finding a copy these days is difficult.  On the EP the tracks being covered are: Kraftwerk's Ruckzuck  Amon Duul II's Eye Shaking King Can's Mother Sky Mashantra's Rauchkraut FLAC

Various Artists Monsieur Gainsbourg Revisited EP Polydor 9839472 (2006) An English language tribute album to the works of the late Serge Gainsbourg was released in 2006 and from the album this limited edition EP was produced.  The actual release is not an EP per say but 2 x 7" vinyl discs in a gatefold sleeve (normally referred to as a double pack). Regardless of the format name here are 4 great English versions of Gainsbourg's work.  Tracks 1-3 are featured on the original album whilst track 4 was only (initially) available via this "EP".  My favourite is Cat Power & Karen Elson's "I Love You (Me Either)" the English version of "Je T'aime Moi Non Plus" .   The song was written in 1967 for Brigitte Bardot and she sang on the original recorded version .  Although she was in a relationship with Gainsbourg, she was at the time of recording still married to the German millionaire playboy Gunter Sachs.
