Taking their name from a trio of convicted members of the Black Panther Party incarcerated at Soledad Prison (George Jackson, Fleeta Drumgo and John Clutchette), the Soledad Brothers were an American garage rock trio who at the time of this single consisted of  Ben Swank on drums & Johnny Walker on guitar and vocals. Jack White of The White Stripes featured on the flip side of this single.

The single was released on the Italy Records label, an indie label operating out of Detroit.

Ben Swank went on to form Third Man Records along with Jack White (and Ben Blackwell).  The single was re-released by Third Man in 2019.

Vibravoid Kraut Rock Sensation EP Fruits De Mer CRUSTACEAN 07 (2009) Another great slab of vinyl from the Fruits De Mer label featuring the band Vibravoid who hail from Dusseldorf, Germany. The original plan for the label was for long lost rock classics to be re-released however licensing the music was I assume very difficult and expensive so the label moved into having rare and classic rock being re-recorded as cover versions. The White Stripes Candy Cane Children / Story Of The Magi - Silent Night XL Recordings WSXMAS 1 (2002) Christmas cheer from Jack & Meg White aka The White Stripes.  The A side was recorded 1998 and the  flip side 2002, both at Third Man Studios, Soutwest Detroit.   This UK version of the 45 was limited to 1000 copies. The US version was pressed on white vinyl.  The 45 was re-released on Third Man Records in 2010. The White Stripes wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas this, and every year. No portion of the recordings or packaging of this record is in any way meant to be blasphemous and the White Stripes will take considerable offense from anyone who believes it to be. FLAC

Tenpole Tudor Wunderbar / Tenpole 45 Stiff Buy 120 (1981) Tenpole Tudor were a punk band fronted by Eddie (Edward) Tudor-Pole. The band (and in particular Eddie) were first noticed when he appeared in the Sex Pistols' film The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle and on three of the singles released from the soundtrack. At one point (prior to the band folding) he was touted as a replacement singer for Johnny Rotten (John Lydon).  Initially releasing a 45 in 1980 on Korova Records, this was their 3rd single on Stiff Records and it reached #16 in the UK charts. As well as his musical career Eddie has appeared in numerous film roles including Sid and Nancy, Harry Potter and Les Misérables. He also fronted the TV show The Crystal Maze for 28 episodes in the 1990's. BUY 120
