Taking their name from a trio of convicted members of the Black Panther Party incarcerated at Soledad Prison (George Jackson, Fleeta Drumgo and John Clutchette), the Soledad Brothers were an American garage rock trio who at the time of this single consisted of  Ben Swank on drums & Johnny Walker on guitar and vocals. Jack White of The White Stripes featured on the flip side of this single.

The single was released on the Italy Records label, an indie label operating out of Detroit.

Ben Swank went on to form Third Man Records along with Jack White (and Ben Blackwell).  The single was re-released by Third Man in 2019.

Vibravoid Kraut Rock Sensation EP Fruits De Mer CRUSTACEAN 07 (2009) Another great slab of vinyl from the Fruits De Mer label featuring the band Vibravoid who hail from Dusseldorf, Germany. The original plan for the label was for long lost rock classics to be re-released however licensing the music was I assume very difficult and expensive so the label moved into having rare and classic rock being re-recorded as cover versions. Pauline Murray And The Invisible Girls Dream Sequences Illusion IVEX 1 (1980 ) Pauline Murray (born 1958) having been inspired by seeing the Sex Pistols perform formed the punk band Penetration.  The band had some success in the UK but in October 1979 they had split up. Pauline in 1980 then recorded her first solo work being backed in the studio by The Invisible Girls.  This single is taken from the resulting album.  This version in my collection is a 10" single, it was also released on  7" vinyl. Marion Ryan  (4 February 1931 – 15 January 1999)  was a popular British singer in the 50s & 60s, once called "the Marilyn Monroe of popular song".  Most of her output is referred to as run of the mill pop but the "A" side of a 1968 release, although not experiencing any chart success at the time, found acceptance during the 1970s on the Northern Soul dance scene.
